Canterbury Travel has the honour to work with a number of leading charities.
Meeting the real Father Christmas in Lapland is a very special dream for all children, yet it can be all the more poignant for children and young people with life-threatening conditions.
By collaborating with and supporting the outstanding work, of charities such as FACE, Make-A-Wish UK and Starlight, we hope we play a small part in ensuring that the dreams and wishes of such brave children, come true in snowy Lapland.
Face is based at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre of the Western General Hospital. The charity is run by volunteers who have been directly or indirectly affected by cancer.
Each year the funds raised through FACE go towards making a real difference to patients and families affected by cancer and an annual trip for sick children to see Santa in his Arctic homeland, Lapland.
You can read more about FACE and the work that they do by visiting the FACE website
Make-A-Wish® UK exists to grant wishes to children who have been diagnosed with a critical condition.
Right now, there are more than 60,000 children in the UK who have been diagnosed with a critical condition, changing their lives and their families’ lives forever.
For them, the joy of childhood is brought to an abrupt end, with treatment plans, hospital appointments and sleepless nights taking over.
The power of a wish revives a childhood stolen by critical illness. It brings light and joy to children and their loved ones and leaves a profound and lasting impact on all their lives.
Starlight brightens the lives of sick and terminally ill children.
For over 30 years, the charity has been providing hospital entertainment and an extensive programme of Wish granting. Each year they help over half a million children.
